Girl Scout cookies are available online early this year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- If you’re a fan of the Girl Scout cookies that come around every January, we have some exciting news for you. 

For the first time ever, you can get your Girl Scout cookies in December. 

Usually launched on Jan. 1, digital orders are available now. Customers can pay to have their cookies shipped immediately, or pre-order Girl Scout cookies that are delivered in mid-February for no shipping cost. They are $5 per box for the six main flavors or $6 for the two specialty flavors. 

Due to COVID-19 and limited in-person opportunities, they decided to begin the orders now.

“Because of COVID, it’s hard on Girl Scouts to go out and sell cookies on their own because people don’t want to meet people. And the cookie sales for Girl Scouts is a big money maker for them,” said Allen. 

All proceeds go to the local counties that have Girl Scout troops and help provide girls with premier leadership experience and scholarships. You can order online here.
