German American Bank sponsors financial literacy class for high school students
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local school is benefiting from a financial literacy program funded by a nearby bank franchise.
German American Bank, in an effort to support local schools and workforce development, has announced the bank will be sponsoring a financial literacy program for Glasgow Independent Schools.
The goal of the program is to equip high school students with money management and career skills through a financial education curriculum.
The sponsorship provides physical curriculum materials for all freshmen students and the resources for teachers to lead the classes digitally if that is needed.
Glasgow Independent High School principal Amy Allen says financial knowledge for children is important.
Curriculum topics for high school students include identifying career options and sources of income, financial planning, building savings, credit, responsibilities of renting vs. owning and protecting yourself from identity fraud.
