Fire fighters and police officer buy local kids a new basketball hoop
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – What started as a neighborhood block party in Bowling Green turned into an unexpected opportunity this weekend for local first responders.
Crews from the Bowling Green Fire Department along with an officer from the Bowling Green Police Department, noticed safety hazards with a basketball goal being used on Glen Lily during the party.
Several of the first responders pooled their money together and bought the kids a new basketball hoop and brought it to the block party.
According to the fire department’s Facebook page, this was a beautiful way to share love with the kids in the area and promote safety at the same time.
