Fire department rolls out new website that could save your pets life

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department is rolling out a website to help first responders if they ever have to come out to your home.

It is called Community Connect.

It allows homeowners to share critical information with first responders on the occupants living in the residence and its layout.

Let’s say you have a pet and a fire breaks out in your home.

That is a good thing for firefighters to know when they come to your home.

Bowling Green Fire Department spokeswoman Marlee Boenig says the information provided to the fire department is confidential.

It provides a space to report if you have tested positive for COVID-19 as well to allow first responders to prepare accordingly.

The fire department wants to reassure the community that they will respond and care for you whether or not you have tested positive for the virus.
