Duncan’s Duck Paddle Race and Regatta gathers community
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Ducks are always a part of Duncan Hines Days, and this year is no exception at the second annual Duncan’s Duck Paddle Race and Regatta.
Duck paddlers and their families gathered, competing to be the fastest paddlers.
From solo kayaks to tandem kayaks and canoes, men, women, children and even dogs paddled from Romanza Johnson Park all the way to Phil Moore Park, not only to enjoy the day, but they also got a new appreciation for the environment as a whole.
Duncan Hines coordinator Andrea Strange says, “A lot don’t realize that we have these beautiful creeks and rivers in our community, they don’t realize that they are accessible and that they can go out and experience them every day. We just want to make sure people know that the more people are connected with our environment, the more that people are going to want to take care of our environment and protect our environment.”
The duck paddle gave the competitors and the people who came to watch a new perspective for the world around them and amazing grand prizes.
