Dogs Delay Rescue Of Shooting Victim
Police in Portland, Oregon enter a shooting victim's bedroom and remove her from her home through a window to avoid two pit bulls also inside the home. KGW's Bryant Clerkley reports.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KGW/NBC News) — Police in Portland, Oregon were forced to enter a shooting victim’s home through her bedroom window Tuesday – and remove her through that same window – due to two pit bulls that were also inside the home.
The woman called 911 at 3:16 a.m. and told dispatch she woke up to gun fire coming into her bedroom.
She said she’d been shot five times and was in her bed but couldn’t move. She also warned dispatachers about the two dogs.
Because of the dogs and because they had little time to act, the officers went into the victim’s bedroom through her window and removed her from the room so she could receive medical treatment.
