Daryl Woods named as new principal of Henry F. Moss Middle School

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Daryl Woods has been selected as the next principal of Henry F. Moss Middle School.

According to Warren County Public Schools, Woods has been a dedicated educator for 24 years, serving most recently as the principal of the Warren County Area Technology Center. Previously, he served as principal of Drakes Creek Middle School for 13 years, where he led the school to earn the National Blue Ribbon designation from the United States Department of Education.

He also previously served as principal and assistant principal of Franklin Simpson Middle School.

“Mr. Woods has a strong track record of leadership, with a clear commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment where both students and staff can succeed. He sets high expectations while ensuring students receive the necessary support they need to achieve at meaningful levels. He has consistently worked to expand meaningful, high-quality opportunities so that every student can discover their strengths and reach their full potential,” Clayton said.

“With a student-centered approach, Mr. Woods leads with purpose, placing safety at the foundation of everything he does. He inspires a culture of achievement by empowering both students and staff, while continuously seeking new opportunities that enrich learning and growth. His leadership will have a lasting impact on the entire Moss Middle community,” Dr. Sarah Johnson, assistant superintendent, added.

Woods states, “I believe that every student deserves a teacher who will guide him to excellence, every athlete deserves a coach who will mentor and train her to compete at a high level and every artist deserves a director who will develop his talent. I am excited to work with parents, students and staff as we continue to build this HFMMS community.”

Woods graduated with his bachelor of science degree in accounting, a master of arts in secondary education with an emphasis in math education, and his Rank 1 in educational and leadership administration, all from Western Kentucky University.

He will assume his new responsibilities on July 1, 2026.
