Crash involving molten aluminum blocks I-165 northbound in Daviess County

MADISONVILLE, Ky. – According to a release from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2, Northbound Interstate 165 near mile point 69.5 will be closed due to a crash involving a vehicle hauling molten aluminum.

Both northbound and southbound fast lanes will be closed due to the crash at the Fairview Drive overpass.

The closure is expected to be lengthy due to the nature of the materials. According to Kentucky State Police, the closure is expected to take up to 10 hours.

Officials urge motorists traveling northbound from Ohio to Daviess County to detour via KY 231.
