City police investigate Monday morning shooting

Bowling Green police are investigating an early morning shooting in the 1300 block of Kenilwood Way.

A man who lives in an apartment in that block heard someone trying to break in, yelled out and someone shot the resident at 1:49 a.m., BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.

The man survived the shooting and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His name has not yet been released.

No other information was immediately available. WNKY’s Cecelia Herrell spoke with police and neighbors and will have more on this shooting tonight at 5 and 6.
