Citations: Homicide victim struck with wooden object

Two Tennesseans are accused of beating a Simpson County man to death.

Jordan G. Alford, 23, and Amie Alford, 52, both of Portland Tenn. are charged with murder in the death of Damain Cook, 19, of Franklin.

Cook was found unresponsive in a garage Aug. 7 in the Broderson Mobile Home Community and taken by medical helicopter to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where he died Saturday.

Both of the Alfords’ arrest citations accuse them of striking Cook with a wooden object. Both were initially charged with first-degree assault, Simpson Circuit Court records show. After Cook’s death, they were charged Saturday with murder.

Amie Alford was additionally charged with second-degree promoting contraband and possession of marijuana after a deputy jailer found a small amount of marijuana in her bra when she was arrested on the murder charge, according to her arrest citation.

Both are lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.
