CITATION: Woman charged with abuse, failure to render aid for two children in need of emergency hospital care following crash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One woman is charged with abuse of two children following a car crash where police say the mother did not get two juveniles the medical attention they needed.

Police discovered a vehicle with severe damage and blood both inside and outside of the car.

According to her arrest citation, officials went to the home of the driver, identified as Cinthia Rangel, and found two young children with severe injuries inside.

According to the citation, one child was found with severe lacerations to its face along with a broken leg, bruised abdomen and blood on its ears along with another child with bruising on its body.

When police asked if she had taken the children for medical care, she said that she had been too afraid to get in trouble to seek care, according to the citation.

Both children were taken to Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital due to the extent of their injuries.

Rangel was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail and charged with the criminal abuse of both children under 12, failure to render aid with serious injury and criminal mischief.
