Chick-fil-A opens second BG location

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It started out as a camp-out and ended with a clang. The clanging of pots and pans, that is. And one by one, the first 100 customers who had camped out all night received free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

The company’s newest restaurant is located on Scottsville Road just around the corner from Bowling Green’s existing Chick-fil-A on Campbell Lane.

Franchisee Operator Andy Robinson, said even though the new location is only a mile and a half from the existing store there is an opportunity to serve some customers that would normally drive around the corner to the other location which may mean less congestion on Campbell Lane.

He’s also hoping to gain new customers from drivers on the Interstate 65 who may be looking to stop for a meal.

But will reducing traffic and congestion on Campbell Lane have an impact on other nearby businesses? Robinson said the new location would take some traffic from Campbell Lane businesses at first but less traffic means other potential customers can now visit those businesses.

Between 120 and 130 new jobs have been created by the business.

And, now that the campers have been fed and the ribbon has been cut on the new Chick-fil-A restaurant, it’s down to business.
