Chamber celebrates grand reopening of businesses
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- On Friday morning, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce held a #SCKStrong ribbon cutting that signified the official grand reopening of the business community.
They welcomed all from the community to join as they cut the ribbon to signify the reopening of businesses to full capacity.
They also cut another “ribbon” made out of masks to represent the mask mandate officially ending today as well.
Nearly 100 people attended, and some of the businesses and organizations represented in attendance included Taz Trucking, the BG Hot Rods and Sheldon’s.
“We have looked forward to this, I mean this event, what would it be like, you know we all thought when would be the end and we never knew. And here we are because we’ve taken care of each other and we’ve had great leadership in our community and I’m very proud that our community has prevailed. And I’m just so excited about what’s happening next and I believe that our economy’s going to really thrive at this moment,” said Mayor Todd Alcott.
The #SCKStrong campaign was launched at the beginning of the pandemic by the chamber to keep the community connected during hard times.
