Celebration of The Arts at the Kentucky Museum

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This year is the Kentucky Museum’s 17th annual Celebration of The Arts festival, something that has become a tradition for several local artists, sponsored by Abound Credit Union.

On the “Kentucky Floor” of the museum, there are 204 pieces of art including paintings, sculptures and multimedia projects. With the entry requirement being that you must live within 65 miles of Bowling Green, many pieces featured are from artists in the News 40 viewing area as well as students of Western Kentucky University.

Director of the museum, Brent Bjorkman, said this is his favorite event of the year because he’s gotten to see artists grow over the past 9 years he’s been in his position. “My hat is off to everyone who entered because you have to be very brave to enter any kind of art competition” Bjorkman said.

The exhibit will be open till April 14th for those who wish to stop by. It’s free to the public and operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
