Bowling Green offers post-tornado recovery training
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many people in Bowling Green who’ve been affected by the tornado still have lots of questions about FEMA, rebuilding and of course their plans for the future.
Next week, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to get those what’s and when’s answered.
The city will have two free post-tornado recovery trainings led by St. Bernard Parish, or SBP.
SBP is a nonprofit disaster recovery organization that visits communities after disasters. They’ll be able to help the city leadership as well as families recover, rebuild and navigate through any confusion about damaged property, displacement, avoiding contractor fraud and anything else.
Director of Neighborhood and Community Services Brent Childers said, “Our goal is to rebuild and recover from this tornado as quickly as possible so that people can get back into their homes, and their jobs and we can continue the wonderful way of life we have here in Bowling Green.… So, it’s a lot of good valuable information for the families [and] the property owners who were impacted by the tornado who can really take advantage of this opportunity.”
The training will take place at the first floor of the NCS Community Room at 707 E Main Ave Bowling Green.
You can attend Thursday, January 20, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday, January 21, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
