BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man has been sentenced following a fatal shooting that occurred in 2022.

According to court records, Torian L. Jackson, 38, of Bowling Green was sentenced on charges of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon on Sept. 26 at Warren Circuit Court.

Jackson was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for the murder charge, while he faces 10 years in prison for possession of a handgun, court records say.

Jackson was arrested in October 2022 in connection with a shooting that killed Marcus McCathren, 40, of Bowling Green at the 100 block of Butler Way.

The Bowling Green Police Department says it responded to the location just after midnight Oct. 24.

Police say they located McCathren with a gunshot wound, and lifesaving measures were unsuccessful.

Jackson pleaded guilty to both charges, according to court records.
