Bowling Green man arrested on DUI charge after mailboxes found destroyed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky, – A Bowling Green man is behind bars after several mailboxes were destroyed in the local area.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to a collision Sunday at 1:19 a.m. in the 300 block of Springhill Avenue.
Upon arrival, police say they observed tire marks through multiple front yards, a destroyed concrete barrier, two destroyed mailboxes and a vehicle parked in a yard.
Authorities say the driver was identified as 25-year-old Ayuba Mukandama of Bowling Green.
After receiving consent to search, officers say they found 20-30 vodka shooters in the vehicle.
Following Standard Field Sobriety Testing, authorities say Mukandama’s preliminary breath test measured at .147.
He was placed into custody and transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for a blood test and medical clearance.
Mukandama remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, no oeprators – moped license and failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense.
