Bowling Green horse Epicenter prepares for Preakness
BOWLING GREEN, KY. – Two weeks ago, Rich strike stunned the racing world by finishing first with the lowest odds in the Kentucky Derby.
Bowling Green’s own Epicenter finished in second place, now attempting a first-place finish in the Preakness this Saturday.
Epicenter’s owner Ron Winchell says the confidence within the entire team is still very high heading into the big race in Maryland.
“I don’t think the confidence level Epicenter has changed,” Winchell said. “He ran a great race. Even my six-year-old said Epicenter ran the best race. So, the confidence level is great. But with any big race, you just hope you show up and run. I think if he shows up and runs, we’re in a good position.”
