Bowling Green FC Hosts First U.S. Open Cup Qualifier
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green FC is hosting a U.S. Open Cup Qualifier match this Saturday and they want to pack the pit at Bowling Green Junior High School.
This is the first time a team from Southcentral Kentucky has competed in the tournament, let alone host a round.
Team captain and director of coaching Michael Swierkoszto is excited about the environment Saturday night.
“Anybody who shows up Saturday, you don’t have to pay for a ticket,” Swierkoszto said. “You don’t got to do anything. You got to show up, get yourself in a Lions shirt or just get yourself there and cheer on the city of Bowling Green. Don’t worry about, Bowling Green this or Bowling Green what type of thing. Cheer on the city’s team right now and help us get to the next round. That’s what we’re looking for.”
