Bowling Green church volunteers feed 1,000 families

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland and volunteers from Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowling Green came together to give back to the community Wednesday morning.

A food distribution event being held at Lampkin Park.

Food for 1,000 families was handed out to anyone in need.

Jamie Sizemore, the executive director of Feeding America, Kentucky Heartland, said the organization is an essential business and will continue to distribute food for as long as the pandemic takes.

Another distribution event will take place Thursday in Edmonson County at the Senior Center on Ferguson St. in Browsville.
