Bowling Green celebrates World Refugee Day
On Saturday, refugees from across the south-central Kentucky area gathered to celebrate World Refugee Day.
The event was held by the International Center of Bowling Green at Lampkin Park.
World Refugee Day brings together all different types of people, cultures, and traditions.
At least 9 different countries were represented in the celebration.
Food and music gave the refugees a small taste of home while celebrating where they came from, and where they are now.
A number of people also shared dances native to their home countries.
The goal of the event was to celebrate the journeys that those embarked on to come to America.
