Body recovered from Green River identified

UPDATE (3:08 p.m. Monday) Warren County Deputy Coroner Dwayne Lawrence identified the man pulled from the river Sunday as Leoncia Anastacio Santillan, 49, of Bowling Green.

Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby confirms a body has been recovered from the river. The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.

According to Chief Brian Lee with the Richardsville Fire Department, they received a call around 9:30 a.m. this morning stating an individual had slipped into the Green River near Lock 5 and had not resurfaced. 

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Richardsville Fire Department, Gott Fire Department, Edmonson County Rescue Squad, Butler County Rescue Squad, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and local emergency management crews.

Chief Lee says a dive team from Barren County has been called in.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
