Blessing to be held for Bowling Green Safe Haven Baby Box

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A new baby box is being blessed at the recently opened Bowling Green Fire Department’s Station 8.
The creator of the Safe Haven Baby Box will speak at the station at 1 p.m. to commemorate the event.
Baby boxes give mothers in crisis the option of legally surrendering their infant across several states.
Friday’s blessing means the Safe Haven Baby Box at this location will be ready to use for the public, according to Bowling Green Fire Department public information officer Katie McKee.
Safe Haven says the process was anonymous, safe and legal. So far, at least two newborns have been surrendered to Bowling Green baby boxes.
