Bids awarded to extend roads, grade 50 acres at South Cooper Industrial Park

GLASGOW, Ky. – Two bids have been awarded for major projects in Barren County.
On Thursday, The Barren County Economy Authority (BCEA) announced it has awarded two bids to advance development at the South Cooper Industrial Park in Glasgow.
Bids have been awarded to extend the length of Beltline Boulevard to access the entirety of the park and further grade an additional 50 acres.
Both bids have been awarded to Scotty’s Contracting & Stone, LLC.
The extension will allow access to all lots in the South Cooper Industrial Park.
Utilities. including a main sewer line, water line, natural gas and fiber, will see improvements to the park.
Two additional graded pads will be added to provide expansion of industry in Barren County.
Lot 6 will be a 20.3 acre pad on 34 acres while Lot 2 will be a 6.2 acre pad on 15 acres.
50,000 square foot and 100,000 square foot buildings on Lot 1 and 7 are expected to be completed in August 2024. The Barren County Economy Authority says the expansion will attract employers by providing ready-to-use space and prime location to the I-65 corridor. Each building is expandable by 24,000 square feet.
