BG Chamber of Commerce hosts women’s leadership conference

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today, the Bowling Green area Chamber of Commerce held its third annual Women’s Leadership Conference.

Over 200 business women gathered at the National Corvette Museum. The event’s mission was to empower, enlighten and engage women while encouraging them to go out and make a positive change in their business worlds. The theme this year was “Lipstick is Power.”

Speakers of the evening included third-grader Cora Morris, Warren Central High School Sophomore Marie Manirakiza, Tippi Toes Dance Owner Sarah Nuse, former law enforcement and hostage negotiator Scott Harvey and Dr. Martha Sales, Interim Dean of Students at Western Kentucky University.

“It’s always awesome to see a group of women together, not just walking in their power, but empowering other women,” said Sales.

“I would give advice to any young woman to do it afraid. If you don’t do it afraid, you won’t do it. There are so many things that cause us fear as women, pause, whether it’s internally or externally, but you have to do it afraid.”
