Barren County Sheriff’s Office warning of scam targeting nurses

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community about a scam targeting nurses involving their professional licenses.
Deputies say nurses are being contacted by individuals who claim to be federal agents. During this conversation, authorities say the individuals say a nursing license has been suspended or is under investigation.
Deputies say the scammers threaten victims’ bank accounts and property seizure if they do not comply.
The sheriff’s office confirms this is a scam.
Authorities advise not to provide these individuals with personal information, including bank details, or money.
If you receive a suspicious call, do not engage with the caller or provide information. Deputies say to hang up and contact your licensing agency or local law enforcement using a verified phone number.
