Barren County plans housing for current residents, future growth
GLASGOW, Ky. – Wednesday morning, a housing needs assessment presentation took place at the WKU campus in Glasgow.
This research established a forecast of how Barren County will increase with individuals traveling through and settling down.
As of right now, the county is lacking in the supply of housing for their current citizens. However, if they are able to get the right people together to come up with a plan, they will be able to improve the county.
“So what I think about putting this together is we’re hoping to see the local governments come together, working with developers, working with our planning and zoning, to build new houses, to renovate, remove blight from the area and hope to attract new people to our community,” said Maureen Carpenter, president and CEO of Barren, Inc., the Barren County Chamber of Commerce.
Many people are supporting this by investing and sponsoring to create a greater, bigger community.
