Barren County Fair opens tonight

GLASGOW, Ky. – Tuesday marks the start of the 67th Barren County Fair.

The fair features 12 different rides, including rides for children, food trucks, games and all kinds of fun events throughout the week.

The gate fee is $10 per person, and children under 3 feet can enter free. Tuesday night, the fair will feature laser tag and a wrestling event starting at 7 p.m.

At the end of the fair, on Saturday night, raffle tickets will be drawn to see who wins the Ruger Rifle gun with a track scope and carry case. The gun is a $500 value. Raffle tickets are only $1 a piece, and they’re sold every night during the fair.

Donnie Alexander, President of the Temple Hill Lions Club said that missing the fair last year was tough on them.

“It was very hard on us financially. We was getting down to the very minimum we could handle. I mean with our bills and everything- with here and the clubhouse- it was getting hard on us. But, it’s looking up this year,” said Alexander.
