Barren County elementary school awarded $100,000 for new fitness center

GLASGOW, Ky.- An elementary school in Barren County has been awarded tens of thousands of dollars for a new fitness center.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday that Hiseville Elementary School is one of three in the state to receive $100,000 for the fitness center.

The school was selected by the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils.

Each fitness center is financed through a public/private partnership with companies like Coca-Cola and Nike.

The fitness center will be unveiled during a ribbon cutting this fall.
