Appointments available for Red Cross blood drive Wednesday and Friday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The American Red Cross has teamed up with the Nashville Predators to host a local blood drive Wednesday and Friday at the Holiday Inn Plaza in Bowling Green. 

The drive was from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and will have the same hours on Friday. The Holiday Inn Plaza is located at 1021 Wilkinson Trace. 

All blood donors who pre schedule an appointment receive a Predators foam hockey puck and are entered into a drawing to win a Red Cross logo puck signed by a Predators player. All appointments were filled Wednesday, but there are still four open spots on Friday. 

Local man Sonny Thomas was there to give blood today and he told WNKY News why he does it. 

“I’m a Marine Corps veteran so I’ve seen people who need blood and a few of my friends have needed blood and I’m able and willing so I just feel like it’s my duty,” said Thomas.
