Allen County-Scottsville hosts Stuff the Cruiser

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. –  The Allen County-Scottsville School District and Scottsville law enforcement partnered Friday for the annual Stuff the Cruiser event.

Officers and educators collected school supply donations from Dollar General shoppers across Allen County.

Community members donated notebooks and pencils to help ensure every child starts the school year prepared. Organizers explained how the event benefits Scottsville students and parents.

“This event allows us to be able to give those items out to the students. Our community benefits from this event because there’s always a need in the community for our students,” said Sarah Lockwood, Allen County Intermediate Center Family Resource Center coordinator. “Our school system alone provides a lot of school supplies for the kids, but anything that the students may need or don’t have, our family resource centers within the school provide those extra items for those kids.”

Lockwood added that each Allen County family resource center will provide school supplies to students at the district’s upcoming open houses.
