Allen County mother charged with criminal child abuse

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – An Allen county mother is behind bars after authorities say a home was found to be in hazardous condition.

According to a uniform citation, authorities responded Wednesday to search a Scottsville residence based on reported drug-related activity, where they found two adults and a child.

The two adults were identified as 42-year-old tracy Jones and 56-year-old Homer burd.

Deputies say the home had dangerous and poor conditoins, including fire hazards and narcotics.

Authorities say the child was in extreme danger due to substances on site and potential violence tied to alleged drug trafficking.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office reports the child received medical care and was later placed into the care of a family member.

Burd and Jones were arrested and remain at the Allen county detention center. Both face drug trafficking-related charges, while Jones is charged with criminal child abuse.

Burd is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and persistent felony offender I.

Jones is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and first-degree criminal abuse – child 12 or under.
