A critical blood drive is now scheduled for victims of Saturday’s deadly tornado.

BOWLING GREEN, KY: A critical blood drive is now scheduled in Bowling Green to help the victims of a deadly tornado. The blood drive will be at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 12 form 9:00am-3:00pm.

At least 11 people were killed after the EF3 tornado tore through Warren County and the surrounding areas early Sunday morning. Authorities say that at least 500 homes and 100 businesses in Warren County were destroyed.

Officials from TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital released this statement about Saturday’s deadly weather event.

“Our hearts go out to everyone who was affected by this morning’s storms. Please know that if you need medical attention, TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital remains fully operational, and our care teams are working tirelessly to provide the highest levels of medical care for our community. However, healthcare facilities across southern Kentucky currently face a blood bank shortage. If you are able, please consider donating blood so we can continue delivering the care our community needs in the aftermath of the storm.”

Hospital officials say that registration for Sunday’s blood drive is not required and is open to the public.
