Edmonson County awarded $523,053 for road and bridge improvements
BROWNSVILLE, Ky. -The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced plans to spend over a half a million dollars on road and bridge improvements in Edmonson County.
Over $523,000 will be spent on resurfacing work on six county roads, as well as bridge repairs on the North Main Street Bridge.
The bridge over the Green River in Brownsville serves 7,000-8,000 vehicles a day. Repairs will address signs of aging on the sidewalk and railing to maintain the safety of the bridge for pedestrians.
Resurfacing repairs on the six-county roads will address existing surface cracks, potholes and base failures.
Those roads are: Oak Hill, Mt. Zion, Salem Church, Long Fall, Crump and Mohawk.
The Edmonson County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work and the Transportation Cabinet will reimburse the county for the projects.
