Logan County woman accused of faking illness for monetary gain

LEWISBURG, Ky.- A woman from Logan County is accused of faking a terminal illness in order to receive monetary gain.

According to Kentucky State Police, following a Grand Jury indictment, Logan County Circuit Court issued a criminal summons, which was served Tuesday afternoon on Lewisburg resident, Sierra Bennett, 25.

Police say the indictment stemmed from an investigation involving a complaint of her falsely claiming to have received a diagnosis of terminal cancer to obtain money.

Bennett is charged with theft by deception-under $10,000.
