CASA holds cookout to raise awareness of organization
CASA of Southern Kentucky held a cookout Friday afternoon in Glasgow to raise awareness about the organization.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA is an organization primarily made up of volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system in this region.
Glasgow native Billy Buford returned to his hometown this afternoon as the organization’s new advocate coordinator. Buford is one of four CASA employees. As the advocate coordinator he will supervise and support CASA volunteers who serve children in Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Metcalfe and Warren counties.
CASA welcomes volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, you can find out more information here.
