12-year-old baker named 2021 Glasgow Christmas Parade Grand Marshall

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow-Barren Chamber of Commerce made a big announcement Tuesday about the Glasgow Christmas Parade naming their Grand Marshall and releasing their theme.
Haylin Adams, a 12-year-old Barren County native who recently competed on a national cooking television show and did exceptionally well, was named the 2021 Glasgow Christmas Parade Grand Marshall.
“Being on the Kids Baking Championship was just an amazing opportunity and it was so cool to get to go on there and bake in the kitchen and meet Duff and Valerie and I got in the top four out of 12 bakers. So that was just pretty cool to get to do that and just an amazing opportunity,” said Adams.
The theme will be Candyland, inspired by all of Haylin’s sweet treats.
Haylin says she is thankful that she was chosen to be the Grand Marshall for the Christmas parade.
Since she has never been in a parade before, Haylin is really excited.
For Haylin, the community has been extremely kind to her.
“This county means so much to me because they’ve given me so much support and so many options. It’s just like, it’s just so cool and so amazing to have all the support,” said Adams.
Tina Hogue, the chairman of the Christmas parade committee for 2021, says Haylin serves as an inspiration for other kids to follow their dreams and work hard.
“She has worked very, very hard to be able to be on the Kids Baking Championship. It wasn’t an easy task and she worked very hard, had support of a great family and was able to make that dream happen,” said Hogue.
The parade will be held December 4th in downtown Glasgow.
