Drivers licensing no longer available at the Warren County Justice Center

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Circuit Court Clerks Office held a little party for their employees to celebrate the last day to get licenses done through the county.
Now, if you need a new or renewed license, you will need to make your way to Stadium Park Plaza where the regional drivers licensing office is located.
Friday was the very last day you could head over to the Warren County Justice Center’s licensing division to get your license.
According to Warren County Circuit Court Clerk Brandi Duvall, Kentucky was the only state that did licensing on a county level rather than a state level and, as the Real ID rolls out, Kentucky is making the switch.
Duvall says they have plans for the area formerly used for licensing.
“I won’t be losing any staff. The girls that work in driver’s license now will be moving to the court side and we’re going to expand this all department here once everything is taken away. We’re going to expand our domestic violence department to this end of the office and still utilize the space,”
The Real ID will be required to fly domestically in May of 2023.
The good news is they last for eight years instead of four, so you don’t have to renew them as often.
The bad news is they are not given to you the day of your appointment.
Instead, you will receive a paper copy and your Real ID in the mail.
