After going 0-6 in Slam QFs, Pavlyuchenkova finally wins 1

PARIS (AP) — Anastasia Pavlychenkova finally has a Grand Slam quarterfinal victory. She had been 0-6 in singles quarterfinals at major tournaments and 0-5 in doubles matches at that stage. But she got past her doubles partner Elena Rybakina 6-7 (2), 6-2, 9-7 to reach the semifinals at the French Open. The 29-year-old Pavlyuchenkova now will face another first-time major semifinalist in Tamara Zidansek. The 85th-ranked Zidansek became the first Slovenian to get to the final four in singles at a Slam by edging No. 33 seed Paula Badosa 7-5, 4-6, 8-6 at Court Philippe Chatrier earlier Tuesday.
