INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Ed Carpenter Racing rolled into Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the momentum of its first victory since 2016. The energy pushed the team to a strong day in Indianapolis 500 practice in which Ed Carpenter and Conor Daly finished second and third on the final speed chart. Scott Dixon paced the session at 226.829 mph. The ECR team got a boost last weekend when 20-year-old Rinus VeeKay scored the first win of his career on the Indianapolis road course. VeeKay is one of three first-time winners so far this season.
