NASCAR this year promised to add some new ideas and energy to the schedule. Marcus Smith has played a pivotal role in helping NASCAR add variety to the 2021 schedule. He first covered Bristol Motor Speedway in dirt, and next hosts all three of NASCAR’s national series at Circuit of the Americas in Austin this weekend. Smith has leased the Texas road course to promote NASCAR events this weekend and borrowed a page from his father’s approach to add the event to the schedule.
