Soccer leagues, clubs and players in England are set to start four days of silence across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in a protest against racist abuse on social media. The protest has been adopted more widely. FIFA and UEFA also said they wouldn’t post online across the four days. Such is the anger across the game that it means Manchester City could clinch the Premier League trophy on Sunday and not celebrate it on social media.
