Volunteers participate in Love Your Parks in Bowling Green Saturday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is hosting its first ever Love Your Parks day event Saturday.
Eleven groups are signed up to work on 11 different parks doing different assigned tasks to help out that park.
Some will be pulling weeds and painting signs while others will be picking up trash and cleaning off placards.
Cameron Levis is with BG Parks and Recreation.
He says the goal is to host this event multiple times per year and allow the general public to get involved in the future, but because of COVID, this year groups had to be smaller.
Levis said you can do your part by loving the parks on a daily basis by using them, keeping them clean and saying a quick thank you to parks and recreations workers you may see at the parks day to day.
