Hope Harbor hosts Take Back the Night virtually for the second year in a row

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – April is National Sexual Assault Prevention Month and a local non-profit has announced they will be hosting their annual event virtually this year once again.

Hope Harbor has hosted their Take Back the Night event since the 90’s.

Participants are asked to walk two miles between now and April 22 in honor of Take Back the Night and ending sexual violence and post pictures online and tag the non-profit or use the #TBTN.

Two participants who post onto social media will win a gift basket from Hope Harbor.

The choice was a difficult one, according to Alayna Milby.

Milby says the event is a place for survivors to come together and feel like they are not alone in their struggles and is an incredible way to bring awareness to sexual assault prevention.

Milby hopes to have the event in person next year and encourages anyone in need of sexual assault information or support to contact Hope Harbor.
