ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Victor Caratini is a no-no catcher. He was behind the plate for hometown pitcher Joe Musgrove in the first no-hitter in San Diego Padres franchise history. It was after Caratini caught a no-hitter for the Chicago Cubs last September. That makes him the first catcher in MLB history to be behind the plate for consecutive no-hitters in the league for different teams. Musgrove and the Padres got the no-hitter in Texas on Friday night. Caratini said Saturday he’s super happy and glad the team got to experience that.
