SKYCTC awarded over $1-million to support first generation college students

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College received a 1.3-million-dollar grant to support first-generation college students.

SKYCTC received a notification that the U.S Department of Education will fund a student support services program.

This SSS grant will serve 120 students per year with advising, tutoring access to cultural activities and additional financial assistance.

This is an important investment for the future of students according to Dr. Phillip Neal, the president and CEO of SKYCTC.

To qualify, the student must be low income, first-generation, and/or be registered with disability services.
