Bowling Green U.S. Attorney’s Office gives updates on first months of operation
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The new U.S. Attorney’s Office in Bowling Green shared the office’s successes over the past eight months during an event Monday at the Soky Marketplace.
The goal of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Bowling Green is to help work together with local law enforcement in order to better serve South Central Kentucky.
Since the opening of the office in February, and through the pandemic, the federal prosecutors in Bowling Green have presented, and the grand jury returned, 30 federal indictments.
The indictments include cases involving firearms, drug cases, fraud and child exploitation, according to U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky Russell Coleman.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the presence of the full-time federal prosecutors living and working in Bowling Green enhances working relationships and provides more robust investigative support to law enforcement and state prosecutors.
