Afghan Attack Occurs Near Kabul

An Afghan official says an attack was underway Monday in the country’s capital, where gunmen have raided and occupied a partially constructed building near an intelligence training center in western Kabul.

The Deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry says the attackers are battling Afghan security forces and that reinforcements had been dispatched to the area.

The official had no word on casualties, but confirmed gunshots and an explosion in the area.
