CBS’ Super Bowl Sunday begins with seven hours of pregame coverage

CBS kicks off seven hours of Super Bowl Sunday pregame coverage highlighted by the Network’s pregame show, THE SUPER BOWL TODAY; Tony Romo’s season-long behind-the-scenes journey to Atlanta – TONY GOES TO THE SUPER BOWL; as well as the day beginning for the first time ever with THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW; and the NFL Films special, ROAD TO THE SUPER BOWL.
Originating live from a set in Game Day Fan Plaza and two inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, James Brown, Boomer Esiason, Bill Cowher, Phil Simms and Nate Burleson, along with Ian Eagle, will host the Network’s pregame show, SUPER BOWL TODAY, previewing all the football and excitement leading up to Super Bowl LIII. NFL insider Jason La Canfora, reporters Tracy Wolfson, Evan Washburn and Jamie Erdahl, NFL rules analyst Gene Steratore, and contributor Jim Rome also will cover the pregame activities. Amanda Balionis will serve as CBS Sports’ social media correspondent. Other contributing guests including players and coaches will be announced later.
The show will be highlighted by interviews and features including:
● A historical CBS SPORTS PRESENTS series feature highlighting 50 years since Joe Namath guaranteed victory in Super Bowl III for his N.Y. Jets.
● The return of CBS’ Super Bowl features series, “Difference Makers,” which looks back at key plays in recent Super Bowl history and interviews the players who made them.
● A special look at the host city of Atlanta with some of its big-name entertainers in the music world, as well as a look at the key role Atlanta played in the Civil Rights Movement and its leaders.

Brown will host his ninth Super Bowl pregame show, while Burleson works his first Super Bowl as an analyst.
CBS Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl LIII will begin at 11:30 AM, ET with seven hours of pregame* followed by Super Bowl LIII and postgame coverage.

In addition, CBS Sports Network, the 24-hour cable home of CBS Sports, will have more than 75 hours of original Super Bowl LIII programming including extended postgame coverage with SUPER BOWL TODAY POSTGAME SHOW, hosted by Brown, Esiason, Cowher, Simms and Burleson.
THE SUPER BOWL TODAY will be produced by Drew Kaliski, producer, THE NFL TODAY, and directed by Bob Matina, director, THE NFL TODAY. THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW (TOPS) will be produced by Deb Gelman and directed by Linda Malino.
