Scammers using Barren County Detention Center’s name in new phone scam

GLASGOW, Ky.- The Barren County Detention Center is warning residents of a phone scam involving the jail.

According to a message on the Detention Center’s website, scammers are calling residents with the jail’s phone number appearing on caller ID.

The scammer then asks the person on the other end of the line for bond money.

According to officials at the Detention Center, it is not the jail making the phone call.
